Hey everyone, I’m taking you to the stunning town of Lindos on the beautiful Greek island of Rhodes. Just an hour’s flight from Athens, Rhodes is one of the Dodecanese islands, located off the coast of Turkey. From the airport, it’s a scenic 45-minute drive to the east shore, where you’ll find the charming town of Lindos. Let’s explore the top things to see in Lindos, Rhodes!

1. The Acropolis of Lindos

The crown jewel of Lindos is the Acropolis, a historical complex perched high above the town. This ancient site showcases classic Greek architecture, including the iconic Temple of Athena Lindia. The views from the Acropolis are absolutely breathtaking—you can see the entire town, the sparkling Mediterranean Sea, and even St. Paul’s Bay. Trust me, the climb is worth it for the panoramic vistas alone!

2. St. Paul’s Bay

Lindos is flanked by two stunning beaches, and St. Paul’s Bay is a must-visit. This narrow cove is located just south of the Acropolis and is known for its calm, crystal-clear waters. A short climb down the rocky cliff will bring you to this serene spot, where you can relax on the beach or even find some shade depending on the time of day. It’s the perfect place to unwind and soak in the natural beauty. If you enjoy using drones, this is a beautiful location to take footage.

3. Lindos Beach

On the opposite side of town lies Lindos Beach, a larger stretch of sand with incredible turquoise waters. Here, you can rent umbrellas and lounge chairs, and even have food and drinks brought right to you. It’s the ultimate spot for relaxation and enjoying the Mediterranean sunshine.

4. The Charming Town of Lindos

The town itself is a picturesque maze of boxy whitewashed houses that rise up the hillside. The narrow, winding streets are adorned with vibrant flowers and lush vegetation, creating a postcard-perfect setting. Explore the shops, boutiques, and cafes, or dine at one of the rooftop restaurants for stunning views of the Acropolis and the sea.

One unique thing about Lindos is that cars aren’t allowed in the town center, so don’t be surprised if your luggage is transported by donkey—it’s all part of the charm!

5. Tips for Your Visit

- Bring a water shirt: If you’re visiting in the summer, the midday sun can be intense. A water shirt will help keep you cool and protected.

- Pack a power adapter: If you’re coming from North America, don’t forget an adapter to keep your devices charged.

- Wear comfortable shoes: The cobblestone streets and climb to the Acropolis require sturdy footwear.

- Bring a good camera: A professional camera, or an iPhone camera will both work great to capture the best pictures of your dream vacation.

Final Thoughts

Lindos is a dream destination that combines history, natural beauty, and Greek charm. Whether you’re exploring the ancient Acropolis, relaxing on the beaches, or wandering the enchanting streets, Lindos is sure to leave you with unforgettable memories.
